Accuracy Quest
Here accuracy beats speed. Type each target cleanly — one slip and the shot is gone.
- - Type a target's word cleanly to loose an arrow into the bullseye.
- - A single mistake spoils the shot — the word resets and your streak breaks.
- - Targets drift and fade; let too many escape and the round ends.
- - Gold targets are worth triple. Hit streaks score big.
- - Click the screen or the pause button any time to pause.
Why accuracy beats speed
Most people trying to type faster practise going faster. That is the wrong lever. A typist running at 140 WPM with 82 percent accuracy makes roughly ninety errors in a page, and every one of them costs the moment to notice it, a backspace, a retype, and a broken rhythm afterwards. A typist at 95 WPM with 99 percent accuracy finishes first, and finishes clean.
Accuracy Quest exists to make that trade visible. One wrong letter loses the shot and resets the word, so there is no powering through a mistake. That single constraint forces you down to the speed you can actually hit cleanly, which is the speed worth building on.
Getting better at it
- Start in Practice. Marksman punishes hesitation before you have a rhythm to defend.
- Read the whole word before you start typing it. Most misses happen in the first two letters.
- Let a target escape rather than rush it. An escape costs less than a broken streak.
- Gold targets are worth triple, but only if they are hit cleanly. Do not lunge for them.
If you are still finding keys by sight, accuracy drills will only take you so far. The typing courses cover hand position and finger assignments first, and this game pays off far faster once that foundation is there.
